Elliot Sloan #2.

Spin cycle.

Mr. Sloan adds a heelflip to Mike McGill's Wicked Twister. Elliot has been on Birdhouse for a very long time now. He has a new shoe out in collaboration with Fallen and Birdhouse.

I appreciate the consistency of Birdhouse ads. They've had a few variations, but generally stick with a photo sequence on a solid colored background over the years. It's maybe not the most exciting design, yet it serves its purpose well.

The sequence is by Brian Fick.

That's a fakie 540 with a heelflip thrown in. A McTwist starts out forward, you must go upside down while rotating 540 degrees. Just because someone spins 540 degrees does not mean it is a McTwist. You don't have to take my word for it, you can watch McGill talk about it in one of the latest Thrasher videos.

The ad clearly identifies the trick as a heel flip 720. This trick was first done by Tony Hawk and not Mike McGill who invented the McTwist

I didn't even see that in the corner. I zoomed in on the frames to see if he actually went upside down that I didn't notice he spun 720. So it would actually be a heelflip McHawk. But, no on really called it a McHawk, they just needed to name it something.

Whoa. People actually commented.

I thought McGill had his own version of the 720 called the Wicked Twister.

This ad is kind of difficult to process without the trick name. Elliot’s windup frame sure looks like it could be the start of a 540.

Didn’t vert dudes do fakie to fakie 540s?
