Phil E. was pro for Skull Skates in addition to Small Room. I guess there would have been a board with his name on it from Small Room. I think they had pro models. Small Room was tiny and I don't believe they ever made it past half page sized ads. As a side note, Tony Buyalos rode for the company before he started Shorty's.
After retiring from riding professionally, Phil became a lawyer with the goal of defending skateboarders in trouble with the law. He currently is an attorney involved with enforcing child support court orders.

I always tried to support some of the smaller companies back in the day like Brand X, Small Room, Poor House, Blockhead etc. Only had boards from the latter two though.
It was tough finding the small companies' boards in a small town. A couple of my friends sent a video into Poor House and got some free boards from them, I think. I did have at least one Blockhead. For as much as I support indie stuff, I usually just ride Girl boards these days. Not there is anything bad about Girl at all, but I feel I should support the little guys, too. I'm so used to the 8" x 31.88" Brian Anderson shape that I don't want to mess with it. I can't afford to lose any of my three tricks.
yeah... I'm the same except with Alien/Habitat. Only boards that feel right to me. 7.5" for the most part. Although I did snap a 7.5" in 3 sessions earlier this month so I've moved up to 7.75". Feels like a tank but I suppose I'll get used to it. I also don't want to lose tricks. I've lost more than I've gained in my old age.
i saw smallroom at a demo at the berea roll n bowl in cleveland. i won a free board by naming the new kids on the block! thanks sis!
