Thomas Taylor was an am for Schmitt Stix. I believe he had a pro model on Torque Skateboards. He owns Stratosphere in Atlanta, which he has been running since he was 19.
His son Grant just turned pro for Alien Workshop.
The photos are by Hughes (no first name) and Eric Bose.

Kothe used to fucking kill it, his ramp skills were soooo good, street monster, saw him at so many contests raging. came across this dude on facespace that had all these old pics of him, forget his name.
Hah...the name is Eric Bose.I forgot about this ad,kind of a trip to see after all these years. We did a pretty cool two photo one in the 89? Thrasher...the one with Ron Allen on the cover.Kothe was the shit in His day for sure.
I checked and it was in Thrasher with Ron Allen on the cover. Kothe had a wallride and a board slide in an ad for Schmitt Stix rails. I'll probably scan it and post it sometime.
Rest in peace now Byron! You did leave a legacy!
bRYON KOTHE WAS A GOOD FRIEND. i CAN TELL YOU STORIES ABOUT HIM THAT WOULD KEEP YOU LAUGHING FOR DAYS. i WILL MISS HIM TREMENDOUSLY.

H,M
Byron was my best friend and a brother to me. We grew up together and even lived together. Both sponsored skaters... Byron was a skate god. Damn I miss his friendship. We hung almost every night the last 6 months. His drink, cards, smokes and jacket were in "his" chair... He never returned. We were always reliving the glory days and even skating. His ollies were still so fucking power!
Rest in peace, my friend.
