Karma had turned pro for Dogtown, but that company fizzled out and he wound up at SMA. His tenure on Santa Monica Airlines was brief because Consolidated would be starting soon.
Both of those tricks were cutting edge at that point. Back then, I heard a lot about how good Karma was but never really saw much footage of him prior to youtube.

the frame where he is pushing the late shove-it is so good. I don't think I've seen that trick represented well before.
