Jesse Paez.

The holidays are over and it's back to 1996.

Jesse was the little kid who went big in the early years of Consolidated. He launched himself down some huge gaps. He later switched to Think and was on that team until he disappeared in the early 2000s. His brother Richard was also pro for Consolidated.

Airwalk decided to enter the then fledgeling pro shoe market by giving models Jason Lee and Tony Hawk.

I'll do another 1980s/early 1990s week sometime again soon just to add a little variety.

Jamie Mosberg was the camera guy.

I just find it kinda funny that Mosberg became a shoot/film guy. Because when we were bck at Cherry hill and he was AM for Kryptonics, he used to abuse the guys on the deck shooting him, and find it hilariously funny when he broke their cameras with a kick-out, sending them flying---oh well.

You're not the only one with disdain for "Mouse" Mosberg. If you have the DVD release of Birdhouse's "The End" watch the commentary. It is the most hilarious thing, because Jeremy Klein just takes over, as he shit talks anyone and everyone from fellow teammate (at that time) Steve Berra to Jamie Thomas to Mosberg, who helped film the video. Klein is relentless in how much he hates Mosberg and how he screwed up the video by missing shots thereby causing skaters to have to redo tricks, to having skaters out of frame, being too stoned to show up on time, or simply not following Jeremy's directions. There are times when Klein is screaming at the screen, "LOOK AT MOUSE! LOOK AT HOW HE FUCKED UP!" The line that sticks with me is when Klein says, "I can't believe we bought this guy a house." Birdhouse bought the dude a home for filming a video. That's a lot, especially with how pricy (overpriced) California real estate is.

That's crazy--getting a house for being a crappy filmer. The funny thing is--back in the late 70's/early 80's the guy could really shred vert (the 14 foot high Egg Bowl at Cherry Hill was no joke! Nearl 4 feet of vert before HUGE coping!), he was just an obnoxious tool.
