Scott Johnston.

Has the whole cleanest guy in skateboarding joke been beat to death?

Chops has a great interview with Scott at the Already Been Done website. He picks Lakai's Soca as one of his favorite skate shoes of all time, along with the Half Cab. The Soca is also one of my favorites and I was bummed out when they stopped making them. If imitation is the sincerest form of flattery, then would it be possible for companies to stop ripping off the Half Cab and start making some Soca clones?

Anyway, in this ad you get to see the full line of DC Shoes. I dig the brown color for the Danny Way's and the burgundy for the Rudy Johnson's.

Thanks to Skate Daily for giving Vert Is Dead the link of the week.

I've always been frustrated with Scott Johnston. The guy had such a good style, which left me wanting more, yet he couldn't piece together more than two minutes worth of footage at a time (starting with Mad Circle's "Let the Horns Blow," which he actually had less than two minutes and he had ending part.)

Just a few clips in the Girl/Chocolate vids or the Transworld vids. I've never read any of his interviews because of my disappointment in his lack of output, so I don't know why he never got footage. Was he injured, lazy, or just over it?

I've had kind of the same thought about him, too. Maybe he had to deal with injuries. I think we can safely rule out heavy drugs or prison time as factors.

I seem to recall a Big Brother European tour article with a story of airplane hi-jinx. Dimitri couldn't sleep and found some little kid who was willing to torment the other riders who were sleeping on the plane. The kid woke Scott up to tell him that my video part was longer than yours. Ouch.

Hell yeah, Mr. Neat has always been one of our favorites. The straight across lacing on the Danny & Colin models got me thinking about the old days. Good stuff.

I think that Big Brother article may have been from one of the DC Super Euro Tours.
