Elissa Steamer.

Time for your weekly Toy Machine injection.

I watched Toy Machine's Live last night. Ethan Fowler's part is an interesting one. For half of it he is wearing big pants and doing the tricks of the day. For the other half of it, his trousers have slimmed down and the trick selection is much more classic. Ed Templeton puts on a flip trick clinic, which seems out of place for him. He even does a nollie backside kickflip down some stairs.

I've been slowly working my way through GSD's Best Of Skate Fate book. It's quite a collection and you should look at picking up a copy. I'm planning on using some quotes from it for December when I kick it back to the 1988 - 1990 era. I only have one slight complaint about the book. Skate Fate also had a music component and there aren't any interviews with bands included in the book. I understand why they weren't included as this is strictly a skateboard related endeavor, but when interviews with Scratch Acid and Galaxie 500 are listed in the index of the issues, I'd like to read them.

Apparently anything Manny Santiago can flip into on a handrail, Alex Perelson can flip into on a vert ramp. See the new Real ad for confirmation.

The photo is by Atiba Jefferson.
