John Montesi #3.

Handsome Boy Modeling School.

Zero Sophisto was Andy Howell's clothing company. He started it when he was on New Deal as a place to use art that didn't fit in with what the Deal was doing. The team included Josh Kalis, Jamie Thomas, Vinnie Ponte, Shiloh Greathouse, Karma Tsocheff, John Montesi, Billy Pepper, Pepe Martinez, and Kenny Hughes.

Andy and Dave Kinsey did the creative work for the ad.

I always thought is was strange that Jamie Thomas rode for Zero Sophisto, but started his own company called Zero. Anyway, I used to buy Zero Sophisto shirts from H-Bombs house in Atlanta back in 1992. He lived in this nice condo in an upscale part of town. In one room was a music studio and another was an art studio. He turned a closet into dark room/recording room. I remember seeing Jeff Pang and Lil Jon drinking Heinekens and free-styling together. The guy was way ahead of his time. Super nice and humble. Would always give his old stuff away and helped local guys get coverage( Brian Chung, Daniel Powell, etc.) I still have a Ma$$ Prophets tape he gave me.

ATL 4ever!

Supposedly Jamie Thomas asked Andy for permission to name Zero Skateboards after Zero Sophisto.
