Bob Burnquist #4.
"I'm glad I grew up in Brazil and was taught how to do it differently. The culture and my friends helped me become who I am. I am very stoked to be able to be an influence on other skaters. That's also why I just try to be positive and creative; it keeps it fun. I feel that everyone can be unique if they just let go of what is cool and what isn't. Just skateboard, and things will come to you when you're open for the flow. Skateboarding is unpredictable."

Matt Reason #5.
"I skate as much as I can, usually I just leave my house and cruise towards Love and City Hall, hitting all kinds of stuff on the way. I ride a wider board, eight-and-a-half-inches wide, 58mm wheels. The bigger the wheel, the faster you roll. You can ride smoother on rougher surfaces, allowing you to skate a lot more spots."
Fairest among thousands. An East Coast legend who left us far too soon.

Andrew Currie.
International Man of Mystery.
Andrew is from Queensland, Australia. He's been in the game a long time and was sponsored by SMA in the waning days of the company. Prior to Silverstar, he was on Foundation with video parts in Super Conductor Super Collider and Tentacles of Destruction. Andrew was also the editor of Slam Magazine. I think he's the owner of Hoon Skateboards currently. I don't know all that much about him and feel he falls into the category of underappreciated rippers because the guy shreds both street and transitions.

Sean Mullendore #2.
"Sean possess that crazy pop, and when combined with various flip tricks, regular as well as switch-stance, it's hard for him to go unnoticed. Super consistent and super clean, Sean makes even the most intricate tricks look casual. If you came across this fellow, he may seem quiet and reserved - but don't worry, it doesn't affect his skating" - Pete Thompson

Matt Dove.
"Man, it's great being from the dark side. It gives such a better picture of originality, non-conformism, sarcasm, and fun. Back then vert was so big there scenes all over and people were working on tricks and no one would know about it."
Matt is from Baltimore, Maryland. He was sponsored by Autobahn Wheels and Volcom in addition to Silverstar. Some of his favorite vert skaters included Mike Conroy, Blaize Blouin, Allen Midgette, Bernie O'Dowd, Mike Frazier, Bucky Lasek, and Derek Krasauskas. He likes the Melvins. Matt is into painting and making art.

Jacob Rupp #2.
"I have a lot of pride that I grew up skating on the East Coast. I skated all the time, even in the winter. I skated in gloves, skated ice patches as street gaps and did stuff over them. Skated the littlest towns with nothing but a curb."

Reese Forbes #7.
The Giant Distribution Mini Ramp.
There's a mini ramp section in Third Eye View that features the team shredding the company's halfpipe. You even get a few tricks from Barker Barrett, who I believe was working for Element at the time. Everybody catches some air and throws down with the lip trickery. The Giant Ramp looks neat because it has a few different sizes and a flat bank to wall to give it a little variety. I always like watching mini ramp clips. I used to enjoy skating them, but as of late my transition skills have gone to complete crap. I'm not sure how that happened beyond getting old.
I've watched a couple parts from the new Foundation video, but not all of it. Did anybody skate to The Clean's "Oddity"? Using that song somewhere in the video would have made a lot of sense. I hope the F-Troop releases a DVD because watching stuff online sucks. Is there supposed to be a new Santa Cruz video sometime soon? There was a photo essay that hinted at such a thing in a recent issue of the Skateboard Mag.
Silverstar is coming up next.

Kenny Hughes #2.
The Bizness.
Kenny is from Wilmington, North Carolina. He did the ever popular switch from being an am on New Deal to being a pro on Element. Emerica, Vita, and DC sponsored Kenny's feet over the years. He was also on Nicotine and Landspeed for wheels. Big Hughes blasted some big ollies on both street and ramps in video parts for Element and Emerica. He did some great 360 flips and was so smooth on mini ramps.

Kris Markovich #18.
"The last video I saw that I really liked was Markovich's part in the Element video. He was doing his own shit and skating really fast. I haven't seen too much of that lately." - Dan Drehobl
Element released their Third Eye View video in 1998. Along with Kris, it featured parts from pros Reese Forbes, Billy Pepper, Mike Frazier, and Kenny Hughes. The ams were Tim O'Connor and Rob Pluhowski. Donny Barley was introduced as the new pro on the team, but only had a line of him cruising down the street doing a couple of big ollies. Markovich closed out the flick with his high speed destruction of a lot of street spots. There were large ollies and handrails to go with some flip tricks as well. He basically skates like he's been shot out of cannon. Everything is popped really high and caught clean. That's why he got the last part in so many videos over the years.

Dave Duren #3.
Daydream.
Dave is from Florida, having lived in Miami and Deland. He was first sponsored by H-Street and later switched to Dave Andrecht's 777. Steve Douglas offered him a spot on the team at the New Deal in 1993. He had a part in 1994's Children of the Sun video. As the New Deal was phased out, Dave moved over to Element. He left them for Media in 1997. Etnies and Duffs gave him some shoes over the years. He's into art and playing guitar. Some of his favorite bands include The Smiths, Lush, The Cure, and Slowdive. Based on an old Transworld interview, Dave likes Wendy's and ice cream.

Alphonzo Rawls #2.
Everybody Skates.
Alf is from Oceanside, California. He basically grew up skateboarding and is even in the background of Animal Chin when Tony Hawk ollies the fence at Del Mar. H-Street was his first sponsor. He would later turn pro and did some graphics for them as well. After the Plan B defection, Alf was briefly sponsored by Sal Rocco's Bitch Skateboards. He soon switched over to Natural, a company run by Danny Mayer and distributed by Vision. It was on to Tree Fort next and finally Expedition One. Alphonzo started designing shoes for Kastel and Duffs so he moved behind the scenes as the years moved along. He is currently doing a clothing company called Everybody Skates.

Jeremy Deglopper #2.
"A change is underway. It was inevitable. Skateboarding is progressing. Some skateboarders are progressing with it, others - clueless to the change - are being left behind. If the potential is there, then it all comes down to motivation. Eyes will begin to open and have no choice but to recognize. Very familiar with skateboarding and aware of the separation, Jeremy Deglopper definitely has the potential and motivation needed to stand out." - Jamie Thomas

Jimmy Chadwick.
"A person with extreme control of his skateboard as well as his actions - that is the kind of person we are dealing with. There is a lot to be said about the way Jimmy carries himself. I'll start by saying that Jimmy is determined to excel as a skateboarder and as a person. This is a very important margin to meet to become great. Opportunity is all I can see in his future. He has skated with the same light-foot style since the day I met him. If you notice the way the masters skate, they don't just make tricks, they make them with noticeable finesse. Jimmy has natural potential to become a Master Blaster." - Jamie Thomas
Jimmy is originally from Panama City Beach, Florida and was calling San Diego home when the Chief wrote his Transworld Check Out. He was sponsored by Natural before switching to Tree Fort. Jimmy would later ride for DNA. He scored the last part in Tree Fort's Volume #1 video from 1996 with some tall 50-50s and big nollies.
I noticed it was drying up when I got ready for work this morning. It had been 50˚ F yesterday, except it poured the whole time. I grabbed my board in case it was dry at the park at lunch time. There were a few big puddles where the two snow piles were melting that didn't leave much to roll on, but I managed a decent 15 minute session to break up the work day.

Vinnie Ponte #4.
"There is only one word to say about Vinnie's skateboarding skills: "illumatic". He skates clean, smooth, and powerful. You will never find him backing down from anything if it involves going fat. Vinnie's a real cool guy and always has a positive attitude. Vinnie says "hi" to Periety, Alf, Troy Morgan, Fat Beats, Dogg Eat Dogg, Fat Vinnie, ESP Posse, Scott Sorenson, Cookie Head, Big Matt, and Scott, Chappy, and the Supreme Crew" - Caine Gayle

Max Dufour.
Tree Fort is two words.
Max is from Montreal, Canada. He was pro for Tree Fort and Premium. He did a lot of flip tricks on vert. He has moved over to the industry side of skateboarding and runs a couple of different projects, including Woodchuck Laminates and Pure Distribution. Max also works in a management position at Tracker Trucks.

Kien "Donger" Lieu #4.
Direction.
Direction proceeds to go astray
Man and myth, come closer each day
From the facts of science, to religious views
Cycles twine, a third eye fuse
Seeing is believing, feelings get used
Loving materials can easily bruise
To face from facing the real inside
Can stray our natural instinctive climb
Growth at a pace, no games in this race
Life is to learn, to live on this place
We cannot blind, our minds from soul
Our spirits like others, have common goals
Forever to roam, the existing seas
Grow for our kind, to set our souls free.
In addition to big ollies, Kien dabbles in writing poetry.
Note: There was a list of team riders on the right side of the ad, but it got a little lost in the margin and didn't scan great so I cropped it out.

Chad Knight #2.
McTwist & Shout.
Chad is from Westerville, Ohio. He started skateboarding as a little kid and then rode a BMX bike before switching back to a skateboard. He was first sponsored by Mike Ternasky for H-Street after meeting him at Woodward Skate Camp. Chad was later on Evol, but left for Maple in 1995. He skates a whole variety of things, including street, mini ramps, and vert. His other sponsors included Pig Wheels, Edward Sebastian Clothing, and Osiris Shoes. After Maple ended, Chad rode for 1031 until he retired from the pro ranks in 2011.

Dave Mayhew #2.
Cheesehead.
Dave grew up in Madison, Wisconsin. He's originally from St. Louis, Missouri. He started skateboarding with Tyrone Olson, Pete Lehman, and Aaron Snyder. They all tried to get on Small Room by sending in a video and Dave was the only one who got a board from their collective efforts. Later on H-Street would sponsor Dave as the company was changing over to Evol. He switched to Maple, but stayed with their new shoe brand called Osiris and scored one of the best selling shoes of all time with the D3. He left Maple for the A-Team and was on enjoi when Marc Johnson started the company. Ankle injuries took Dave out of the game and he retired from the pro ranks by the early 2000s.
