Automation avoidance.
GMOS was wrecking spots for a good chunk of the 1990s. He was pushing what you could do with switch stance skateboarding as well as skating mini ramps. He had previously ridden for Powell and Human before joining the A-Team in the fall of 1997. This is essentially an Emerica ad masquerading as an Etnies ad.

He quit Powell for Human in '96. So that's where he was before A-Team.
Thanks. That's what I thought. I wasn't positive when I wrote this up. I did a quick check, but sort of missed that. I updated the post.
