Mikey Taylor #2.

Leadoff batter.

Mikey had the opening part in Skate More. He skated to "Pounding" by Doves. It's one of the few tunes I like by the band and it works well with his skating. Mikey mixes it up with some technical rail tricks and lots of lines. His stuff is difficult, but more in a way that makes you want to skate and not dwell on the fact you cannot nollie flip into a crooked grind or ollie over the back of a handrail. I've always like this part. It does everything the opener to a good video should.

At the time, Mikey was riding for Alien Workshop side company Seek, but that soon came to an end and he was moved over to the Workshop. He left Alien at the end of 2013. As far as I know, he still does not have a board sponsor. In the years since 2005, his feet have been sponsored by Etnies and DC. He is currently on DC.

The photo is by Atiba Jefferson.

take the logos off that shoe and it could be by any maker of the time, Globe (CT's),Lakai (Monarch/Alliance), Circa's...funny thing is I'd pay for a decent pair of 'puffy' shoes these days but they're pretty scarce or ridiculously expensive. Looked at some P-rod's 7's at an outlet store the other day ($49 cdn), but still couldn't do it.

You're preaching to the choir. The pair of HUFs I'm using now are on the way out. I've got this old pair of Fallen Patriot IIs I never skated in lined up for next. They are kind of worn from daily wear so I figure to give the proper send off. Skate shoes should be skated. I still need to get a new pair of something soon.

Choir member here. Only problem is last year, after not having bought beefy shoes for a while, I bought a pair of Globe Sabre's as they were super cheap here in Canada. They reminded me of the CT's I never had so I bought em. They were planks! And worse than that the soles had no grip, they were this weird almost plasticised rubber that actually slid on griptape, which was a weird and dangerous feeling. I think next paycheck I'll just get the re-issued Es Accel OG's as a treat to my feet and bite the full price bullet (which is hard to do when you have 2 kids).
