Blinged out bunnies.

It's more Momentum. They were a Canadian wheel company done by artist Andrew Pommier. I am not sure if they are still around. I liked their ads and they had a solid team that included Rick McKrank, Chris Haslam, Danny Way, Brandon Biebel, and more.

Slam.

He's not really Mike McGill and it was only a word that sounded similar to Onyx.

Bob's Amusement Park.

I'm into the idea of building your own ramps and obstacles to skateboard on so you don't have to deal with more people. I know part of street skateboarding is going out and interacting with the surrounding world and that skating is a social activity, but I appreciate the isolationist aspect that can go along with it, too.

Daniel Harold Sturt's self photographed solo loop completion has to be one of the gnarliest things ever.

Pat Duffy #4.

Primus Knowledge.

This 15 Things provides a good amount of information about Pat's history. It covers everything from H-Street to snowboarding to guitar playing and more. His breakthrough part in Questionable was released 30 years ago and a few of the details about Pat are the type of stories that are prone to becoming lost in the sands of time.

In regards to Questionable, I was possibly thinking of Jeremy Klein's part in Birdhouse's Feasters. Gonz does an ollie fastplant in that. I might have to check my tape.

Adam Salo compiled the list.

Skate Rock.

Behind the music.

Skateboarder had an ongoing column called 15 Things that provided a bunch of possibly little known information about a skater, company, spot, or topic. It was a cool feature and was handy to have for learning some history.

RIP Q Lazzarus.

Flying out of NYC.

I was thinking about what shoes I've liked over the recent years and decided I was stoked on the cupsole offerings from HUF. I had two pairs of the HUF2 as well as two pairs of a model called the Noble. I wish they had done more with cupsole options, but it probably wasn't practical on a number of levels.

I did find a record of the Noble online:

I had these shoes and a pair that were black with a white sole. If I recall, there were some slight differences between the two versions of the same model that involved shape and materials. I thought this was rather strange. Both skated fine, although I liked the black and white pair better. They were a little thicker and had more of a square toe.

Kevin brought a few moves from the earlier days of street skateboarding back to the plate in the 2010s. He was one of the skaters doing no complys over bigger obstacles such as picnic tables or across street gaps. This crooked grind tail grab would have fit in well in 1991 or so.

Peter Ramondetta #6.

"I was in Fayetteville, Arkansas, on another trip with my friends. We were skating some metal skatepark and it was really hot, more than 100 degrees. The ramps were painted a dark color so they were just absorbing the heat. I got knocked out on this bank ramp and slid down the ramp on my face and forearm. Everyone was kinda freaked out, so I laid there knocked out until the paramedics came. The whole time, the hot metal was just cooking my skin. My face burns weren't permanent, luckily, but I still have a gnarly burn scar on my forearm."

Pete recounts a bad experience he had at the Skate Station. The locals dubbed the street course "The Street Course of Death" due to the condition of some of the metal ramps. They were mostly painted a medium shade of blue so that would get toasty in the heat. During my time in Fayetteville, improvements were made to both the outdoor park and indoor mini ramps, which made for a better experience. Time feels really strange these days. I often find myself looking back on stuff I did in the past and asking if I actually did it or am I imagining it? It's like, "Whoa, I lived in Arkansas for 3 1/2 years and have a MFA in Fine Art. Did I really do that? It seems like an eternity ago."

Krooked Outlier.

Brad has been on HUF for a long time. He scored a couple of pro shoe models and has stuck with them once they shifted to being a clothing only company.

It started raining right after I got warmed up for skateboarding in the driveway last night. I did a couple tricks on my smallest ledge and then called it a day. It firmly counted, although it was on the cheap side for sure. Everything was feeling good, which was the opposite of skating on Sunday morning. Strange how that happens.

Round the corner.

Let's fire this up again. I decided to take a look at some assorted HUF Footwear riders. Josh rode for Think/City and Habitat.

Work has been stressfully busy and not in a good way. I have to get a crown on a broken tooth, too. I guess nothing is really all that bad, but I'm kind of worn out by everything at the same time.
