John Lucero #6.

Cheers to 35 years.

The Black Label turns 35 this year. John started Lucero with the backing of NHS (Santa Cruz) in 1988 after leaving Schmitt Stix. He took Lucero over to Vision in 1990. John renamed the company Black Label in either late 1990 or early 1991 and it became the independent entity it is today. The rest is history.

RIP O.

The O photo is by Rick Kosick and was in issue 25 of Big Brother, circa 1996 or 97.

I keep forgetting Black Label exists, which sucks because when they were with Giant distribution in the early 2000s, they were one of the biggest brands in skateboarding. My local shop could not keep enough of their boards in stock. Ijust wish the brand was more visible.

Black Label. Either you know, or you don't. The brand does not need more visibility. it's 35 years, Bruh.

The link to their web store is in the column to the right. They ship really fast and usually add a few new things on a regular basis.

I wish they made some 8.125" x 32" boards. All the decks are a little too big for what I prefer so I've been buying t-shirts and stickers.
