Jay is from Manhattan. He's a photographer and has filmed a couple of skateboard videos, too. They spelled his name wrong in the ad. I don't know too much about Jay and I was browsing around trying to find info, but nothing really turned up.

Of further relevance to NYC skateboarding, Jessie Van Roechoudt and Quell Skateboarding put together a great feature on the history of Rookie Skateboards. Jenkem ran the article on their website, too. Rookie was a super cool company that was very much ahead of its time in the late 1990s and early 2000s.
