Chad Muska #2.

The Muska was discovered by Thomas Campbell and company on trip to Las Vegas that was chronicled in the December 1993 issue of Transworld. Muska was soon sponsored by G & S and appeared in an ad that is too gray to scan. He moved over to Maple in the post - G & S world. By the end of 1995, he was on Toy Machine and poised to become one of the super stars of the late 1990s.

The Updog was pro for Black Label and Anti-Hero. He kind of vanished within the last few years.

I watched the Dylan Rieder "Man Crush" video last night. That kid is on another level. I also watched his part in Mind Field before I went to bed. He was good in that, but nothing compared to the new Gravis footage. I'm not feeling the v-neck t-shirts, but that's the only thing he's doing wrong. He also does probably the biggest impossible ever. Ed Templeton must be proud.

This is at Max's ramp before the huge Gonz mural was painted on the wall. It looks so empty without it. I type that as if I'm a local there or something. I'm not even close. It's kind of crazy how you end up knowing details about skateboarders you've never met.

Mark Appleyard off Flip? Probably a change for the better. Maybe just a change.

Jeff Grosso leaving Black Label? It doesn't seem right. Somebody should make a new brand called Awesome Old Guy Company* that has Grosso, Lance Mountain, Chris Miller and Ray Barbee for the team.

* But come up with a better name than that.

Justin Strubing.

Justin is an underrated all terrain shredder. He's been around for a long time and several sponsors - Santa Cruz, Adrenalin, Foundation, whatever Matt Mumford's short lived Dwindle backed company was (Legacy?) and finally back on the Dot. His park lines in the Foundation tour video The Good Times Are Killing Me are great.

“I hardly knew him, besides shooting with him. But, you could tell he was super nice. Even though we weren’t close, we had a good talk; he was a student and not your average stoner/skateboarder guy. He actually hurt his knee on the trick in the photo. He twisted his knee and just lay on the ground and said, ‘Oh no, I’m messed up.’” - Grant Brittain

Phil was an all around ripper who passed away twelve years ago in a car accident. He rode for Think, Venture and Emerica.
