Scott Kane.

"Whoa there!!! It don't stop! Our ams be putting the hurt on all you burned out old crybaby pros! Kick rock! The next generation of pros is here!!! Welcome to the team Scott!! Let's do this!"

The fine print.

Scott was an amateur and turned pro for Bootleg. He was also on Vans. After Baker started as a board brand out of Blitz Distribution (Birdhouse, Flip), the posse of friends was too big for one company. Jay Strickland partnered with NHS (Santa Cruz) to launch Bootleg. The team included Elissa Steamer, Alex "Trainwreck" Gall, Mike Maldonado, Anthony Mosley, Pete Eldridge and Nick Trapasso. Unfortunately for Scott, injuries forced him to retire from skateboarding. He works in the escrow business now.

This guy's part in Bootleg 3000 was and still is unreal. He came from seemingly out of nowhere with all that footage (12 minutes worth, counting all the super slo-mo). Sucks that he had to retire due to injury.

The funniest part of those Bootleg ads was the small print, in which J. Strickland would shit talk the Baker crew once they had a falling out. And once Trainwreck and Anthony Moseley were gone, he shit talked them too.

I watched his part last week. I don't know if I had ever seen it before, but the dude was doing tricks that don't get done on ledges today down rails ten years ago.

In the Skateboarder interview, it seemed like he wasn't the sharpest kid ever in regards to how he took care of himself. It also seemed like he was very aware of the tricks he was doing and when they weren't up to his personal standards, he stopped skating. He's only 26 and said if he had good insurance he would give it another go because his body was feeling good.

I was thinking about doing a Baker week from their first year, but never did. Bootleg beat to the website.

That should have been Bootleg beat them to the website.

Just watched that 3000 part on Thrashers classics. Never seen it before. Never paid any attention to the hammer phase of skateboarding.

Kid is super good. he still looks like a teen skating in that 12 min part. Is that his only part?

As far as I know that was his only part. He would have been probably 14 to 16 for the Bootleg video part. Injuries forced him out of skateboarding by 18, give or take a year on any of my math.
