I don't know if the this is true or not, but it was rumored that the guys at Think (Greg Carroll, et al) heard that Eric Ricks was going to leave Think and ride for one of Rocco's companies, possibly World Industries. The rumor started soon after Eric's interview in Big Brother (side note: in the interview he complained about a new policy in which companies were cutting riders' pay, but paying them for photo incentives, which is now the norm).
And I remember in a subsequent issue it had a photo of Marcelle Johnson doing a nollie heelflip to noseslide, and the caption was something like, "Eric Ricks may not be on World Industries, but Marcelle Johnson is."
If I'm not mistaken, I think Eric Ricks was one of the first, if not THE first person to noseblunt a handrail (the same one Koston 3 flip noseblunted in Yeah Right). I do rememeber the sequence in TWS, and the still photo was used in a Powell ad (when he rode for them) advertising V2 slick bottoms.
Whether the rumor were true or not, Eric Ricks got the boot. I think he rode for Acme after that.
