Rune Glifberg.

Carrying on the proud vertical traditions started in Denmark by Nicky Guerrero.

I remember watching Rune at the X-Games, maybe even when it was the Extreme Games still, and being blown away with how smoothly he skated. He was doing all the latest vert tricks higher and more stylishly than everybody else. I've been a fan ever since. And a lazy one at that since it took this long to scan a picture of him for the website.

Fury was a truck company launched out of Birdhouse. The team included Tony Hawk, Geoff Rowley, Chad Muska and Rune at the beginning. Lance Mountain and Bob Burnquist soon joined up. The trucks had a weird design that made them suited more for carving and ramps than street skating. When will people learn that it is a lost cause to start a new truck company?

Style is really hard to pick up when watching vert dudes, but Rune's definitely shines through. I didn't come around to really liking him until "Sorry" dropped.

Good point about start-up truck companies; remember Hurricane Trucks? I think Willy Santos started it, or he was at least on the team.

Hurricane was a type of truck by Gullwing that was marketed to seem that it wasn't made by the Wing. Santos was on the team, as well as Tobee Parkhurst and Buster Halterman. I think Frank Hirata and maybe Chad Knight were, too. I helped Chrome Ball track down some Santos stuff so that's why Hurricane is still somewhat fresh in my memory than maybe it should be.

I have a friend who still skates Furry trucks. But is it not owned my birdhouse anymore?

Blitz still does Fury. They also do SK8MAFIA, Black Label, Momentum and Hook-Ups.

Birdhouse is now distributed through Syndrome.

Blitz was Birdhouse, Flip, the Firm and then Fury. Hook-Ups, too. They had Baker for a while. I believe there was a split between Tony Hawk and Per Welinder. Baker stuck with Blitz before recently joining up at Baker Boys with Deathwish, Shake Junt and Heroin. How is there wood? I'd be interested in trying a Heroin board sometime.

I'm sorry to inform you that Theeve trucks are slowly starting to gain momentum where I live. They are light and come with Bones bushings. I was extremely skeptical of anything but Indy 149s but made the switch a month ago. If anyone from Independent ever reads this blog please use better bushings in your trucks. Thanks

I like Rune as well. Super smooth, big and technical.

I like the orange stock indy bushings 8) It's all I've ridden since 1994.

Theeve does seem to be gaining some momentum. Some of the models just look like a copy of indy's to me though. It always surprises me how popular royal is with younger guys. I guess the girl/choco affiliation helps...
